DESCRIPTION:This lecture will cover the basics of modern clockwork technolo
gy. Escapements\, gears\, drives\, chiming mechanisms and more will be disc
ussed. At the end of the one hour lecture there will be some examples provi
ded of the mechanisms discussed and some of the tools used to work on said
systems. Students are asked to bring any interesting clocks (not watches\,
and nothing electrical) for potential examination.
\n
\n This is a more tec
hnically oriented class than the first offering - special attention will be
paid to ensuring a clear understanding of the mechanisms is enjoyed by cla
 ss participants.
\n
\nJohn is originally from London and now operates a clo
